Bradan is a unique science based company run by its scientists and marketing its own technology and that of its collaborating universities and international partner companies.

Led by a senior pathologist and supported by a number of medical and scientific colleagues, our two principal areas of interest are virus and bacterial control through advanced disinfection particularly in the aquatic environment and heat shock protein (HSP) technology for both human and animal use.

Bradan’s disinfection procedures, developed by our scientists in association with Antec Ltd (now DuPont) are recognised as providing the best means of controlling both fish pathogens and those which can infect humans from fish and shellfish. Virkon Aquatic Bradan’s flagship product which is available in a variety of formulations for different purposes, has the highest rating against all aquatic pathogens and yet, when properly applied, is safe for use with food and in fishery and fish farm conditions, even when live fish are present.

Heat Shock Protein technology arose from the interest of Bradan scientists in utilizing the remarkable abilities of Tex-OE®, a patented extract of the prickly pear cactus, which was originally devised for use by professional scuba divers, to a wider market.

Using Protex, Bradan’s special formulation of this material, we have developed, through extensive scientific studies, that it safely enhances Heat Shock Protein (HSP) levels in humans and in animals. Bradan products incorporating this technology are now available for use by humans for prevention of jet lag and exercise fatigue and in animal and fish transport and disease stress recovery.
